Employees' State Insurance (abbreviated as ESI) is a self-financing social security and health insurance scheme for Indian workers. The fund is managed by the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) according to rules and regulations stipulated in the ESI Act 1948. ESIC is a Statutory Body and Administrative Ministry is Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India

Is ESI Registration applicable to you ?

 

The ESI scheme is applicable to all factories and other establishments as defined in the Act with 10 or more persons employed in such establishment and the beneficiaries’ monthly wage does not exceed Rs 21,000 are covered under the scheme. Whether the employer has employed 10 or more employees, all employees employed by the employer, agnostic of the salary are reckoned.

Do you need to provide any documents for Registration ?

Yes, Here is the list of essential documents needed for ESIC Registration:

 

• A registration certificate obtained either under the:

• Shops and Establishment Act

• Factories Act

• Registration Certificate in case of Company and Partnership deed in case of a Partnership

• MOM and AOA of the Company

• Employees list that working in the Establishment

• Employees Compensation Details

• PAN Card of the Business Entity including Employees PAN Card

• A Cancelled Cheque of the Company’s Bank Account

• List of Company’s Directors & Shareholders

• Employees Attendance Register

• After collecting all the above-mentioned documents the following procedure is to be followed for the ESI registration: 

• Employers Registration Form (Form No – 1) shall be downloaded and filled.
