What is the Producer Company

​

A Producer Company is thus a body corporate having an object that is one or all of the following: production, harvesting, procurement, grading, pooling, handling, marketing, selling, export of primary produce of the Members or import of goods or services for their benefit.

 

Primary agriculture activities such as

 

• Animal Husbandry: breeding or caring of animals in the farm.

• Horticulture: Producing, growing plants, fruits or vegetables.

• Floriculture: Growing Flowers.

• Pisciculture: Fish farming.

• Viticulture: Producing grapes.

• Forestry: Preserving forest.

• Re-vegetation:  Rebuilding or replanting disturbed land.

• Bee raising: keep bees to collect honey.

Features of Producer Company

 

• Producer company nothing but private limited companies

• Members: Minimum 10 or more individuals join together to form producer company but there is no upper limit i.e. members can be more than 50 members.

• Directors: Minimum 5 directors and maximum 15 directors.

• Capital: Minimum paid up capital should be Rs 5 Lakhs

• Voting Rights : One  member is having one vote regardless of shareholding

• Conversion is not possible in to any other farm.

• Producer Company shall have words “Producer Company Limited” at the end of its name. For example: Vanilla India Producer Company Limited.

Documents required for incorporation

 

• Firstly members and directors are required to obtain DSC for this:

  • PAN

  • Photograph

  • Addhar or bank statement

  • Email id

  • Mobile number

• For Incorporation Process:

  • ID proof of proposed Directors and Subscribers (any one of them)

  • Passport | Driving license | Voters ID card

  • Address proof of proposed Directors and Subscribers (any one of them

  • Electricity bill of residing address | Mobile bill | Telephone bill | Bank statement

  • Address proof for proposed company

  • Proof of Office address (Conveyance/ Lease deed/Rent Agreement etc. along with rent receipts) | Copy of Utility bill (electricity          bill, gas bill, Mobile bill etc) (not older than 2 month)
